CERTIFICATE COURSE OF CT/MRI TECHNICIAN

After completion of this course, one may land entry level technician’s post at diagnostic labs, medical imaging labs, radiography centres and hospitals or clinics offering MRI scanning service. Main tasks of an MRI technician include- • Preparing the patient for the scans • Providing instructions to the patient • Setting up the MRI scanner •Adjusting the MRI scanner parameters • Positioning the patient for the scan • Operate the scanner (handle the controls and/or software) • Record the scanned images and results • Follow necessary safety precautions and directions MRI technicians usually work under the guidance of qualified Doctors. They follow instructions provided by the Doctor, operate the scanner, record the images and hand over the record to the Doctor (for diagnosis). Eligibility criteria for this course is 10+2, biology with 45%.
